scheduling time

Well this is going well, :(  I want to be able to write everyday about my experiences in starting  a Etsy Shoppe.  And I already have failed on the everyday thing.

Since my last post I have still been doing a lot of research.  I did discover that I am planning to big for myself.  I was planning on doing a large all occasion card set but I really don't see anything like that on Etsy, I guess it doesn't mean that it wouldn't sell but I think I need to scale down some.  I have also found that the cards are not as elaborate as I thought they would be and only selling for about $3 which amazes me a typical card in a store is about $3.  I need to see shops shipping fees maybe like eBay that's were they make up some of the cost.

The girls and I did come up with a name (I think) All Together with Love, ATL.  I think it sounds good.  Need to work on a logo. I have been thinking of a variety different types. Need to play on the computer to see what we like the best.  I than will need to create business cards, invoices, FB page and of coarse the Etsy Shoppe.  Not quite there yet.  I think I would like to be up and running my May 1st.  At least that is the goal I'm setting for now.  I really need to get organized and set a detail schedule of things I do need to do.  Monday I did really well I made 4 cards and also worked on a mini album.  Tuesday was almost a waste of a day.  First of all it was craft day on HSN and I spent most of the day watching that.  Bought two items that I believe will help the business out a lot .  (reminder to self keep track of supplies so you know what you have spent on business stuff.) I was waiting for Home Depot to put in my new bay window so I knew it was going to be a wash but it didn't help that they never came, ugh!  Not happy at all. Today Wednesday, I will work on getting some of the embellishments done in the mini album and make a card or two.  I may also look at ink scape a program that you can do designs in. ( not a 100% sure what I need it for but seems popular in the crafting world.

Well it's 11:15am and off I go, need to get work done.  Let's see if I will be back later or tomorrow at least.

New venture starts today!!!

Starting a new venture

Today will mark a new adventure in my life.  I will be pursuing the dream of a crafting store.  An Etsy store.  Today I begun starting the never ending research.  Seeing what others have learned and are willing to share.  I think my biggest fear is duplicating or copying what others have done.  I have always tried to have my own ideas but that doesn't always happen or I change up what others are doing.  

Research seems to play a big part on what one needs to do.  checking and seeing what others are posting is there merchandise selling, what type of photo's they are using and the tags (I'm really not sure at this point what they are exactly)  One of the best advice I have see so far is get up and dress for work, it doesn't so much mean that you have to look the best but don't hang around in your pjs all day.  If your dressed for bed you will be tired and want to lay around all day, this is very true.  Another piece of information that I believe will be helpful is to have a plan for the week schedule  each day accordingly, such as on Monday make cards, Tuesday make pictures, Wednesday home decor, ect... I believe this will help so one one get so bored.  As your grow I believe their will be adjustments that will need to be made.  My plan of attack will be as follows and not necessarily in this order.  I'm at this point just putting down thoughts.

So this is the beginning and I excited to see where I go from here.  God help me!!!
